Nigeria: These Nigerian Songs Gave Music Lovers Vibes in 2021, Which Is Your Favourite?

Year 2021 is almost coming to an end. Nigerian artistes are not relenting, but continuously getting everywhere buzzing with electrifying hits upon hits to keep everyone afloat with vibes on the dance floor.

The emergence of new contemporary artistes in the industry further makes it more fascinating. The Nigerian music industry has become a worldwide movement and a whirlwind force to reckon with.

Nigerian music is so enticing and holding music lovers across the world spellbound. From UK, US, Canada, Australia, Asia, Europe, Nigerian music is all over.

The Nigerian music industry with the adoption of South African sound Amapiano, and the introduction of fast rising talented acts like Jaywillz, Ayra Starr and Buju just to name a few into the music scene further sparked up new flames, and brought a different aroma from what we use to know.

A lot of impressive hit songs were released, for our listening pleasure, in the outgoing year. Below are some of the electrifying songs that we're yet to get over.

"For You"

Teni the entertainer flaunts her Bone straight hair/Instagram

Teni who is also known as Dolor Makanaki pulled the trigger when she released the single she christened "For You" off her sophomore album titled "Wondaland" which was assisted by DMW boss Davido a.k.a OBO which she kick-started the year with. The wonderful tune debuted and topped Nigerian streaming charts at the number one spot, and remained on the Top 50 for six weeks at a stretch.

"Coming"

Marlian President, Naira Marley, teamed up with Busiswa to deliver "Coming", a very danceable, but provocative tune that was trailed with controversies. The song is a mix of the musical connection between Nigeria and South Africa. The Amapiano song saw Naira Marley and Busiswa exchanging vocals on the high-spirited Amapiano song.

"Running To You"

Chike unleashed the very endearing love song "Running To You" featuring the songbird Simi. The melodious song is so captivating, and a food to the soul. Chike's soothing voice alone is enough to make you fall in love with the song.

"I'm In love"

The Award winning Nigerian dancehall singer, Patoranking, unleashed the heartwarming single "I'm In Love" which immediately warmed its way into the hearts of many, and blew their minds. You cannot talk about Nigerian Songs that made 2021 colourful without talking about "I'm In love", a piercing tune that reaches and touches beneath the soul.

"Doings"

Highlife singer Flavour N'abania dished out Masterkraft produced infectious tune, "Doings", which he united with his industry closest ally Phyno to deliver. The tune is the soundtrack of every event. If it's not Flavour, then it's not doings.

"Essence"

Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid)

Starboy, Wizkid, first gave us a tip of the iceberg when he tweeted that, "he made magic with Tems" on the collaborative song titled "Essence". Little did we know that "Essence" would become so big and spread like wildfire across the world with the huge acceptance. The song achieved a milestone when it debuted on billboard Hot 100 and that magnetically attracted the Canadian American born R'n'B singer, Justin Bieber, to reach out to StarBoy to jump on the remix which is tagged, "Song Of The Summer".

"Kilometre"

Grammy Award-winning Burna Boy also known as Oluwa Burna made a splash and released his official single "Kilometre", a very consciousness tune to kick off year 2021 after the huge success his fifth studio album, "Twice As Tall", garnered in 2020. In the song, he spoke on the distance he has covered on his musical journey to stardom to achieve greatness.

"Once Upon A Time"

Kangol Michael this time takes us down the memory lane on his enigmatic single "Once Upon A Time". The childhood riddles of moonlight show about the tortoise, Mbe Nwani Iga reminds us of life while growing up, "mbe agaba, mbe agaba, ajambele". One tune that spiced up 2021 that you wouldn't want to miss for any reason.

"Bounce"

The Marvin records young-star Rema made a return to the scene and dished out a high tempo banger produced by his label boss Don Jazzy. The controversial song was inspired by the beauties and lusciousness of African woman. The project which was released in April is still fresh and getting feet's moving on the dance floor.

"Thunder Fire You"

Ric Hassani came through with the vigorous tune "Thunder Fire You", a mixture of pop and R'n'B explaining how he is tired of pseudo love. The impressive song won the hearts of many music lovers, and is one of the most amazing Pop/R'n'B songs of 2021.

"Soundgasm"

Rema after the release of his Donjazzy produced "Booty Bounce" took us to another dimension to wet the ground with a steamy tune he dubbed "Soundgasm". According to the Marvin records youngstar, "Soundgasm is derived from the combination of two words which are 'sound' and 'orgasm'. It's literally Sex translated into sound frequency. It's a record that disposes of spiritual vibrations and creates euphoria through the ears."

"Egbon"

Ace Nigerian award winning super music producer Masterkraft came through with his long awaited official single called "Egbon", and this time hooked up with Ezege Phyno to deliver the Amapiano tune. "Egbon" got everyone addicted to its street vibes, Phyno who never disappoints added an aroma to it with his scintillating indigenous flows.

"Crown Of Clay"

V.E.C popularly known as Vector finally reconnected with M.I to deliver this collaborative hip-hop tune titled "Crown Of Clay" to squash their longtime heated up beef that they both came for each other's neck through hardcore diss tracks which got the public eyes drooling on when the hatchet would be buried.

"Celebrate Me"

Patoranking came through with the awakening and touchy tune titled "Celebrate Me" to startle us on the need to celebrate people we love and care about while they're alive. A conscious tune that calls for sober reflection.

"Successful"

Kangol Michael the Vibes dragon as he's also called took everyone by surprise with the snippet of his cover of "Oso Ndi Owe Ndi" titled "Successful", a legendary highlife song performed by the African Highlife king, late Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe. He did a magnetic fifteen seconds freestyle on it, and upon fans dabbling on it when he posted it on the social media demanded for a full song which he obliged for their satisfaction, and listening pleasure. "Successful" as it sounds is one of the songs of 2021 which will keep you in merry mood without getting tired of listening to it.

"Lie"

Kizz Daniel never makes a bad song; his official single for year 2021 titled "Lie" is a song for lovers. This masterpiece is a fusion of Afrobeat and R'n'B. This song is on every lady's lips, and will get you falling inlove. Kizz sure knows what the ladies want and how to give it to them. He keeps showing us why he is called Flyboy.

"Just Like That"

Peter Okoye a half of the former music duo P-Square now known as Mr.P released his Solo debut album titled, "The Prodigal". The very catchy and fascinating love song "Just Like That featuring Mohombi became the lead single of the album, and also fans favourite love song.

"Alcohol"

Joeboy bounced back to the music arena with super-magnetic song titled "Alcohol". The scorching single since its release has remained on everyone's lips as it reflects on ups and downs of life, and our everyday challenges. The vibrant singer has been enjoying a fruitful year, and amassing views on YouTube after giving fans a taste of his uniqueness.

"Feeling"

Ladipoe the supreme Mavin dynasty rapper came through with a superb and poetic tune "Feeling" with assistance from Buju. This record will put you in meditation mood as you sober reflect to reprieve and have a breath of fresh air from life's challenges whilst yearning for happiness in between. How I'm Feeling Now is one, if not the best rap song this year 2021.

"Medicine"

Jaywillz reeled out the outstanding single he titled "Medicine", and the song is indeed a medicine to the soul. One of the captivating love songs you'll put on repeat without getting enough of it.

"Bloody Samaritan"

Fast rising female Mavin songstress Ayra Starr dished out the palatable single "Bloody Samaritan". Ever since the delivery of this astonishing tune, the street has been vibing relentlessly to it making it an anthem rocking every wedding party and it's on every major chart on digital streaming stores. If you're a music lover, and you have not listened to "Bloody Samaritan", you may as well need to update your playlist.

"Where The Money Dey"

Kangol Michael the "Orange Crooner" who featured Waga G unlocked his third single for the year dubbed, "Where The Money Dey". An inspirational tune every dream chaser and hustler out there needs to listen to so as to boost their energy and rejuvenate their hustling spirit. He mentioned big names like, Obi Cubana, Jowizaza, Adenuga and Larry Gaaga asking Where The Money Dey. The song is getting massive airplays on radio stations across Nigeria. Hopefully Obi Cubana or Larry Gaaga will pick his call soon.

Zlatan Ibile, the Zanku master is also stepped forward to bless the street with an intensive tune he called "Cho Cho" and features guest appearances from OBO Davido and Mayorkun. Cho Cho is probably another Lagos Anthem that is shaking the dance floors.

"Somebody's Son"

Tiwa Savage stepped forward after the successful release of her album "Celia" with a follow up EP blessed us with the jaw dropping soulful tune "Somebody's Son" featuring the American R'n'B singer Brandy which received public acceptance and getting massive airplay from every corner quickly became fans favourite. "Somebody's Son" is still buzzing and climbing major music charts on digital platforms both home and abroad.

"Levels"

Flavour N'abania has done it again what he knows how to do best. He has ushered in the yuletide season by churning out a very classic nonstop dust raising trailblazer dubbed "Levels". The Masterkraft produced song has become the talk of the town, and is currently causing ruckus everywhere, and has set social media ablaze. Apparently, our festive season meal has been served hot hot just the way we like it. The visual is one eye popping music video you cannot afford to miss.

Egedege

Larry Gaaga revisited the book of history and reintroduced the cultural "Egedege" song by Theresa Onuorah with guest appearances from the Unubi Queen, Flavour and Phyno, Ebubedike Pete Edochie on the intro and outro. One startling thing surrounding this beautiful tune is, Phyno's verse has been causing controversies on social media among music lovers. Download and listen and let us hear your views.
