Farmer and wife survive attempted murder in latest attack

Police in the Vhembe District have launched a manhunt following an attempted murder and a house robbery incident in Goedgedacht farm, Limpopo.

The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Monday, 28 November around 01:15.

SUSPECTS FIRE MULTIPLE SHOTS AT FARMER AND HIS WIFE

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), preliminary investigations indicated that the owner of the farm was sleeping with his wife when he experienced numerous gun shots aimed at them outside of the house.

Spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the farm owner retaliated and an unknown suspect managed to flee the scene on foot. Afterwards, the owner discovered that his wife was shot on the upper left leg and was later immediately rushed to an unknown hospital for medical treatment.

“The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage but police investigations are underway,” he said.

A manhunt of the unknown suspect is ongoing and police have urged anyone with information that can aid with his apprehension to urgently contact the Investigating Officer Sergeant Mukwevho on 0636843018 or Acting Branch Commander Warrant Officer Maluleke on 0824147048 or Crime Stop go 086001 by0111 or MySAPSApp.
