COVID-19: Top SA scientist tells us all we need to know about ‘Delta comeback’

However, some of our top virus experts comprehensively disagree. Last week, the Health Department’s Nicholas Crisp rubbished reports that an uptick in Delta cases had been registered within the past week.

Some figures claimed that genomic sequencing had picked up a disturbing rise in the variant which has caused the most death and destruction since the pandemic started. However, Dr. Crisp disputed the notion that Delta cases had risen to alarming levels in SA, and confirmed there was ‘nothing to worry about’.

Revealed: ANC owes OVER R100m in unpaid taxes – as SARS ‘gets tough’

What an unholy mess we’ve got here. It was revealed on Monday that the ANC has failed to settle an outstanding tax bill worth more than R100 million with SARS, and the taxman is now planning to come down hard on the ruling party.

It’s no secret that the ANC are in a diabolical financial state. Employees went months without payment in 2021, before the dispute was eventually settled. However, this did very little to balance the books, and the 110-year-old institution has allegedly been cutting corners with its tax bills.

JUST IN: Nhlanhla Lux released on bail under THESE conditions

After spending four nights in jail, Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla ‘Lux’ Mohlauli (previously known as Dlamini) has been released on bail by the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg.

Mohlauli was arrested on Thursday and faces charges of housebreaking, theft and defeating the ends of justice. This is after a Soweto resident opened a case against him, claiming his home was ransacked by Operation Dudula members who had accused him of selling drugs.

Teen rugby players drown in Durban – more details about victims emerge

Two schoolboy rugby players who died in a drowning incident over the weekend have been identified as teenagers from the same school in Gauteng – and the Provincial Education Department has shared some crucial details.

Although the boys have not been named yet, we have since learned that they were in Durban as part of a school trip. The avid rugby players were also gearing up to take part in a tournament.

CCTV footage from the day Diepkloof’s beloved Dr George Koboka was shot dead in his surgery has emerged. Koboka was shot in the head and chest by unknown gunmen at his surgery in Diepkloof, Soweto on Friday 25 March 2022.

In the video, a group of gunmen can be seen entering the surgery. One goes straight to Dr Koboka’s office and waits by the door while the others walk past the patients following him.
