Jacob Zuma Goes Ahead With Case Against Advocate Billy Downer for Leaking Medical Certificate

Former president Jacob Zuma is accusing Advocate Billy Downer of leaking his medical note from his medical note to News24 journalist, Karyn Maughn. Both are now being sued by Zuma in a private prosecution, after the National Prosecuting Authority refused to prosecute Downer in April 2022, Eye Witness News reports. Zuma and his legal team had previously hinted that they were planning on instituting a private prosecution.
