A late goal from Mpho Makola gave Cape Town City a 2-1 victory over Swallows FC on Saturday afternoon.
Makola stepped up to take a free kick from some distance but his well-struck kick flew into the top corner of February’s goal.

Swallows had looked to hit the front on six minutes through a side-footed effort from Lebohang Mokoena, however, Hugo was equal to that effort.
Swallows pounced on a City mistake to take the lead 12 minutes later when Thato Mokeke’s misplaced pass gave Monnapule Saleng a free crack at goal, which he buried.
Fagrie Lakay clattered the upright from a tight angle, soon after, but Cape Town City would then make things difficult for themselves.

Abbubaker Mobara saw red for clattering into Ruzaigh Gamildien on the edge of the area, denying the striker a scoring chance.
Gamildien was then denied by the upright from the resulting free kick.
Eric Tinkler’s team were sparked into life in the second period.
Hugo kept City in the game after another defensive howler afforded Keletso Makgalwa an opportunity with a back-heeled effort.
Swallows would rue their wasted chanced as Nathan Fasika found a leveller from a setpiece.
Later on, another setpiece would provide the winner, with Makola writing another chapter in his storied Cape Town City career.

The victory takes City up to ninth on the log two points ahead of Golden Arrows.
