Ramaphosa urges Netherlands & Denmark to join efforts to end Russia-Ukraine war
JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on the Netherlands and Denmark to join South Africa's efforts in ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Ramaphosa is hosting prime ministers from both nations in a working visit in Pretoria.
Delivering the opening remarks ahead of a closed meeting, Ramaphosa said South Africa's efforts to find a peaceful end to Russia's invasion of Ukraine were yielding some positive results.
Last week, South Africa, alongside seven other African countries embarked on a peace mission to Kyiv and Moscow.

And Ramaphosa said that countries like Denmark and the Netherlands were key in assisting with engaging other nations on the impact of the conflict.
"We believe that our mission was successful in registering the willingness of African leaders to contribute to a negotiated peace and to highlight the broader effects of the conflict. We hope that it will contribute in some way towards the international peace efforts, that are also underway," said Ramaphosa.
