Yellow Level 1 for severe thunderstorms with possible strong winds, hail and heavy downpours is expected over the central and eastern parts of Northern Cape.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Cloudy with morning fog in the south, otherwise partly and warm with isolated thundershowers in the south but scattered in the extreme south.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east with morning drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot in the lowveld with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme south.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east with morning drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme south.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy with morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Cool along the coast where evening mist can be expected, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers east but scattered in the south-east and the extreme east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly in the morning , otherwise moderate southerly to south-westerly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated thundershowers in the north-east from the afternoon. Light drizzle can be expected along the western parts of the south coast in the evening where morning fog is expected.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the south, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly but north-westerly in the west in the morning.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Fine in the north in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated along the coast.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to north-easterly.

The Eastern half – Fine and cool to warm, becoming cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the north-west.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to north-easterly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the extreme north-east. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected but scattered in places the west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly becoming fresh in places in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
