IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

1.Orange level 6 warning for disruptive rain leading to flooding of roads, settlements and bridges, as well as mudslides can be expected over the extreme north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

2.Yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain leading to localized flooding of susceptible roads and low lying bridges as well as poor driving conditions can be expected over the north-eastern parts of Mpumalanga mainly in the morning.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Morning mist in the south, otherwise fine and cool but partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the west, otherwise cloudy and cold with isolated morning showers and thundershowers in the east but scattered in the Lowveld and along the escarpment. It will be cool in the Lowveld.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated morning showers and thundershowers in the east but scattered in the extreme south-east where it will be cloudy.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and cool to cold.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and cool to cold.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Warm along the coast, otherwise fine and cool to cold.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy to cloudy along the south coast and the adjacent interior as well as misty conditions over the south-western interior at first, otherwise fine and cool, but partly cloudy along the extreme south-western parts during the afternoon. It will be warm over the north-western parts.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light southerly to south-easterly north of Cape Columbine, otherwise fresh to strong north-westerly, becoming moderate westerly to south-westerly in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Fine and cool.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly, becoming northerly in the evening.

The Eastern half -Fine and cool.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly late afternoon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the western interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cold but cool along the coast. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected in the north but widespread in the extreme north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly but fresh to strong in the north, becoming north-easterly south of Durban towards evening.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
